Support for local residents
Self-employed, recently unemployed and people struggling financially
At this time we know that lots of families and residents are struggling. Support has been announced by the government for many who are self-employed and for most people who've circumstances who have recently changed through the Covid crisis. However, we know for many people that the help won't arrive until June and for those applying for Universal Credit, there's a 5 week wait once the application has gone through. For others, an increase in providing food for children and additional energy bills adds to already strained finances.
Through the Hope Centre we are trying to support everyone who needs it through signposting and through the centre itself. We are aware though that for many residents, a one off food parcel simply won't be enough. We need to ensure that over the coming months we can put the right level of support in place to ensure that everyone who has been left in difficult circumstances through no fault of their own can get through this time. To help us create the appropriate package of support and ensure that our limited resources can stretch to those who needs it most, please complete and submit the information below. After submission, we will look at how our centre and partners can support you through this time.
