The Hideaway was open 6 days per week for children to drop in and play with their families anytime until March 2020. Like most businesses, we were forced to close due to the coronavirus pandemic. Thanks to easing of the lockdown restrictions and changes in the law, we will be able to open our cafe in July but there is no news yet in when the play space may be able to re-open in any form.
From Saturday 11th July we will re-open the Hideaway Cafe for visitors as a family cafe and we would love you to visit.
How does it work?
The Noah's Ark Cafe has been divided into 5 family zones plus the VIP suite upstairs in the Ark making a 6th zone. Some of the zones are suitable for a single family whilst others can be shared with another family and 1m spacing in accordance with government guidelines. We have installed large screens and speakers and the zones themselves are spaces which include tables, comfy seating and depending on the session - all sorts of things for your family to enjoy.
Booking a session
To make things straightforward, fun and safe, we have 3 bookable sessions for your family and a full timetable of activities.
Wednesday - Saturday - 12pm, 3pm, 6pm
About the cafe
Sessions will last around 2 hours so there's plenty of time to enjoy the activities and eat. Our charge to book a zone is to cover the costs of the activities included in the session. For example craft items, film screening charges or toys. We do ask that in visiting the cafe you take the opportunity to eat a meal together as a family as operating as a cafe only we are reliant upon the income generated until our play space can re-open.
Families are asked to stay within their own designated zones. In the larger zones there is space for children to move around a little and they're not expected to stay seated on a cafe bench for 2 hours. You will share 1 toilet with a family from another zone. Cleaning will take place regularly throughout the 2 hours.
Waiting on staff will take orders and bring your food to the table so there's no need to leave your zone apart from the toilet.
Our menu has been updated for this time. It includes a homemade dish of the day such as lasagne or chicken curry along with our amazing homemade pizza, burgers, hot dogs and fries.
There is a charge to book a zone and use the cafe. The charge is per zone and includes all your hosted activities and resources for that session (unless stated otherwise).
Single family zone (up to 6 adults - max 3 adults, 4 child) £7.50 - £15
Double family zone (up to 10 people - family of 6 and family of 4) £12.50 - £25
