The Hideaway is a community-focussed charitable organisation, run by local people, for local people. Whilst we have a big focus on families with younger children, we are also here to support all members of the fantastic community we live in. As we provide some of these services for the residents of Partington and Carrington, we’re happy for anyone who can benefit to also engage with what we have going on.

As the coronavirus crisis hit in March 2020, we were forced to temporarily close the doors to the café and play centre however, we weren’t content to simply shut up shop and wait it out. Working closely with Trafford Council and local voluntary organisations we were proud to open the Hope Centre – one of Trafford’s 6 community response hubs. Throughout lockdown along with a team of incredible volunteers and support from local partners such as the People’s Church, Your Housing, Blue Sci and the Children’s Centre we were able to provide food parcels, energy top ups, hot meals, lunches, prescription collections and well-being calls for thousands of local residents.

As lockdown restrictions began to ease, we started to look at the next phase of support for our community. Whilst none of us know quite what the future holds, we do know that many people are already facing unemployment, mounting debt, mental health problems, children have fallen behind with education and those at highest risk are still unsure whether or not it’s safe to leave the house at all just yet and all of this in a community where so many households were already classed as living in poverty.

The work of the Hope Centre will be continuing for the foreseeable future along with some existing and new community services. If you would like to support or access any of the services, just go to the relevant page.

Hope Centre

If you live in Partington, Carrington or Warburton and need physical support with food deliveries or energy, packed lunches for your children, food parcels or well-being calls, take a look at our Hope Centre page.

Covid testing

We’re supporting the team responsible for community testing to make it easier for local people to access coronavirus testing.

Wider support

We work really closely with a range of local partners to provide extra services, signpost anyone in need to the right place and advocating where needed. If we can’t help at the Hideaway, we will find out who can.

M31 Community

We’ve always had the M31 Club for local families and special sessions in the Hideaway for Partington residents. Over the coming months there will also be sessions for local residents without families plus our support and well-being groups will be restarting.

Lending Libraries

At the Hideaway we have a book exchange point, a brand-new toy library, story sacks, and a new technology lending service.

Personal support

We have a team of trained mentors and volunteers who can support you. We also have in-house and external support available for those suffering with poor mental health. As an organisation with a Christian ethos, we have a team who are happy to support you in prayer along with our friends at local churches.

Food Support

We provide support with shopping, food parcels for those struggling, a daily hot meals service plus a new takeaway food service and a community larder for anyone to give, swap and help themselves any time.

Christian Faith

We have a fantastic base of supporters who identify as Christian and share a faith which motivates us to love and care for all in our community unconditionally.
